Kristina Sumfleth is a photographer and artist based in Brooklyn whose work reflects on identity, motherhood, and the impact of humans on the environment. She grew up in the Delaware Valley region of New York State and worked as a photojournalist for The Sullivan County Democrat newspaper covering political and cultural events before becoming a work scholar at Aperture Foundation. She received a Bachelor of English from Villanova University and is a graduate of the Documentary and Visual Journalism program at the International Center of Photography where she received a Director’s Fellowship. Her work has been exhibited by the International Center of Photography, Established Gallery, Arts Gowanus and awarded by the Lucie Foundation.

Currently, she manages the digital archive for Magnum photographer Susan Meiselas.
